SEIS DEL SUR (Collectivum Photo)

Seis del Sur is an exclusive photo collective composed of six Puerto Rican photographers born or raised in the Bronx who are noted for documenting the South Bronx from the 1970s to present from an "insider's point of view." The members of the collective are also actively engaged mentors to emerging photojournalists and documentary photographers.

BRONX DOCUMENTARY CENTER

Founded in 2011, the Bronx Documentary Center (BDC) is a non-profit gallery and educational space. Our mission is to share photography, film and new media with underserved Bronx communities and the cultural community at large. We use these mediums to foster dialogue around contemporary local, national and global issues. Through exhibitions, screenings, and public programming, we show the work of internationally renowned and emerging photographers and filmmakers who are dealing with themes that guide the BDC: justice, education and social progress.

KING JUAN CARLOS I OF SPAIN CENTER AT NYU

The Center's mission is to promote the research and teaching on Spain and the Spanish-speaking world at the university, and to mount free public programs for a general audience that highlight the history, politics and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.

THE LOISAIDA CENTER

The Loisaida Center is one of only two Puerto Rican/Latino based multi-use facilities remaining in the downtown area. Loisaida Center aspires to build a connection between community, learners, artists and scholars through affordable education opportunities in cultural fields, S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) design and everyday life. The programs aim to strengthen community connections, preserve personal histories, challenge negative perceptions of the outer boroughs and marginalized areas, and celebrate the diverse neighborhoods and people of NYC.

5 BORO STORY PROJECT

The Five Boro Story Project produces live community storytelling events that bring New Yorkers together through sharing stories and art inspired by our neighborhoods. It's hyper-localized public programs create opportunities to deeply connect to our neighbors and our neighborhoods through true life stories, song, poetry, dance, film, and discussion about the places where we live. The programs aim to strengthen community connections, preserve personal histories, challenge negative perceptions of the outer boroughs and marginalized areas, and celebrate the diverse neighborhoods and people of NYC.
